Document Translation User Guide

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough of how to use the iTourTranslator document translation service, including login steps, document management, terminology database, translation features, and collaboration tools.

1. Software Login

1.1 Login Process

After launching the software, the login screen appears. To log in, download the mobile version of iTourTranslator. Use the app to scan the QR code shown on your desktop screen.

Note: If the session expires, restart the app and scan again.

2. Overview of Interface Functions

After logging in, the software interface is shown as follows

2.1 My Documents

Allows importing files, creating folders, sorting files, and searching.

2.1.1 Import Files

Supported file types: PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX. You can pin, rename, move, share, or delete files.

 

For the imported files, you can right-click or click the three dots on the file to pin the file, rename the file, move the file to a folder, share the file via a link for others to view and edit, or delete the file. You can also check the checkbox in front of the file to move or delete the file. The interface is shown as follows.

2.1.2 Create Folder

You can create files and move files into folders. Within a folder, you can also create subfolders and directly import files. Right-click on the folder or click the three dots on the folder to rename, move, or delete the folder. You can also check the checkbox in front of the folder to move or delete it. 

2.2 Terminology Database

The terminology database interface includes options to add terms, batch add, and export. You can search for added terms by entering them in the search box. 

2.2.1 Add Term

You need to enter your defined terms in the source language and target language fields. The character limit for input is 100 characters. 

For the added terms, you can also edit and delete them. The buttons are shown as follows

2.2.2 Import and Export multiple files

Importing multiple files supports Excel spreadsheets, and the content of the spreadsheet must match the template style. You can download the template to view the style. 

 

Exporting allows you to export the added terms as an Excel spreadsheet according to the template style. The buttons are shown as follows

2.3 Model Library

The model library interface is shown as follows. You must create a project first to use the model library.

2.3.1 Create Project

Click to create a project, where you need to customize the project name and select the target language and source language. 

After creating the project, the interface is shown as follows. You need to first import the files that need training, click on "Train",  and after the training is complete, click 'Enable' to select it for use in the translation engine.

 

2.3.2 Import File

The imported files only support Excel spreadsheets, and the spreadsheet must contain at least 10,000 rows of corresponding data. The content style of the spreadsheet must match the template content. You can also download the template to directly add the required data. The interface is shown as follows

After importing the file, you can see the status of the file. The file can only be trained when its status is "Upload Completed". You can click the refresh button to check the file upload status. The interface is shown as follows.

 

2.3.3 Enable Model

After training is completed, a training fee and a monthly hosting fee will be charged. The trained model will display its status, training results, and training duration. By clicking 'Enable,' you can find the custom model in the translation engine. The interface appears as shown below.

3. Translation

Click on the file to view its contents, and you can zoom in, zoom out, and refresh the page. By selecting the appropriate source and target languages, you can perform selected translation and full text translation, and you can also add a second engine for Bilingual Text View translation. The interface also includes relevant fee information and helpful tips. The interface appears as shown below.

When performing full text translation and Bilingual Text View translation, enabling the terminology database will prioritize the translation results based on the added terms. The interface is shown as follows, and the terminology database is only supported for use with Microsoft engines.

3.1 Bilingual Text View Translation

Select the content that needs to be translated. You can see the translation and the original text on the right side, and you can also copy the selected content and its translation. After clicking "Full Text Translation" and "Bilingual Text View Translation", wait for the file to be translated. Once the translation is complete, a relevant prompt will pop up indicating that the translation is finished. The interface is shown as follows. Different translation engines will produce varying translation results, and the fee standards will also differ.

 

3.2 Translated Text View 

The translation interface for Full Text Translation and Bilingual Text View Translation is shown as follows.


When viewing the translation, clicking on "Link Screen" will allow the original text and translation to scroll in sync with the mouse wheel. You can also adjust the size of the page. When editing the translation and taking notes, clicking refresh or closing the page will automatically save your edited notes first. The interface is shown as follows.


On the translation page, you can right-click or use the toolbar at the top of the page to edit the translation content and take notes, allowing you to modify the translation. The interface is shown as follows.

4. Sharing and Collaboration

In the document sharing interface, you can view the document records accessed through shared links from others, as well as see the document owner. The interface is displayed below.

4.1 Online Collaboration

The translation page opened through the shared link is shown as follows. When this document has been translated into multiple target languages using different engines, you can switch the engines and click 'View' to change the displayed translation.

When others enter the shared document, they can see the names of other collaborators, as well as view the edits and notes made by others in real time. The interface is shown as follows.

5. Account Information and Settings

Clicking on the avatar will display several options: Personal Center, Recharge Center, Help Center, System Settings, and Logout. The interface is displayed below.

5.1 My Account

In the My Account interface, you can modify your nickname and avatar, as well as view your transaction details. The interface is displayed below.

5.2 Recharge Center

The Recharge Center interface includes account balance, point recharge, package details, recharge history, and spending details. 

 

5.3 Help Center

The Help Center interface allows you to view usage documents and contact customer service. You can also access the Help Center through the help button located to the left of the avatar. The interface is displayed below.

5.4 System Settings

In the System Settings, you can choose the logout method, specify whether to open the last viewed document when launching the software, and set the interface language. The interface is displayed below.
