Can both people in a conversation speak different languages?

What’s the difference between source language and target language?
The source language is the language you speak or input into the device. The target language is the one the device translates into.
Most features support two-way translation. However, in the Smart Recording feature, some languages work one-way only — for example, French to Persian is supported, but not Persian to French.
You need better directions on how to operate it. HOWEVER I was able to contact you by phone and I am receiving help.

I've been using this for a few weeks now and I am impressed. I've put different language videos on and had it translate. It actually kept up with a recoreded video. My spanish fluent friends also gave it a thumbs up. Looking forward to traveling with it later this year.

Not perfect but very helpful at work as a stand alone translator
I work as a paramedic in a very diverse community that is also extremely busy and on one shift may encounter more than 3 different languages. Currently in my immediate area I cover we have 78 registered languages and that doesn't include regional dialects so having the ability to translate in emergent situations is necessary often. I have been using my personal phone as a translator but there are times I need to use both at the same time. I am also a supervisor and now I'm the first person to be called to a scene to assist with translation and you can bet I'm doing whatever I can to get something like this for all the paramedics in my area. I have used this actively now for 4 months.
The unit itself reminds me of a flip phone in the way it opens. It supports two screens which detach from each other to allow distance between users. Each side charges independent of each other via USB-C. The primary screen device has touch screen and physical buttons and the second screen is touch only. The two annoyances I've found so far with the device itself is no charge indicator light on either side while not required would be nice but the bigger one is the second screen barely attaches via two magnetic clips and when deployed falls right to the ground with the lightest touch. It needs to have a release clip just like you use to open it. Battery life hasn't been an issue so far. I charge the main device after work but I hardly use the second screen so it usually is dead because you have to take the sections apart to charge it. It is the perfect size to wear on my belt.
Regardless of how the device operates physically the most important feature is the translation both from stored languages or live online translation. The stored language is obviously way faster to translate. I also found that I can download a new language online if it is available using my phone as a hot spot and the translation is faster then trying to live translate. Options for translation include online, offline, real time AI, and even photo translation. The are over 100+ languages to choose from the available list. Sadly the first time I used it in the field it of course didn't have Haitian Creole so I was annoyed and then the screen fell off. Eventually I got down to using it more efficiently have a list of per-defined questions that fit to most patients. Translation is almost perfect but you need to add a little delay prior to speaking after hitting the record button. It's not 100% accurate when trying to record dictation but if you take your time it does work and that is a problem not unique to this device.
It's a good device and it has helped me assess a lot of patients accurately prior to treatment. There are just so many languages and dialects that eventually it may not be in the list but all your major languages, seventeen, are represented. A case would be my only included recommendation but I was able to find one on Amazon that fit it perfect and also attaches to my duty belt but I wouldn't recommend not having one if your going to carry it often. I wear it every shift I work now.
