iTourTranslator for Mac - User Guide

Welcome to the iTourTranslator Mac user manual. This guide is designed to help you get started quickly and make full use of the software’s core features—from downloading and installing the app, to using real-time interpretation in video calls and meetings and translating documents. Whether you're a new user or looking for troubleshooting help, you’ll find step-by-step instructions and tips to guide you.

1. Download

Download the Mac version here: Click to Download


2. Installation

Note: Requires macOS 12.0 or later. Avoid using a VPN during installation or use, as it may affect translation performance.


3. Login

1. Registration

Only supports mobile number registration.

2. Login via Phone or Email

Click "Phone Login", enter your phone number and password, then click "Log In". To log in using email, choose "Email Login".

3. Third-Party Login Options

You may also log in via Facebook or Google. This will open a browser window. From there, you can choose to log in with your phone number, email, or a third-party account.

Note: If clicking "Other Login" does not open the browser:

  • Check if VPN is enabled. If so, disable it and try again.
  • If VPN is not enabled and the browser still doesn't respond, try resetting your DNS settings:
  • Go to System Settings > Wi-Fi > Click your connected network > Details > DNS > Remove existing DNS entries > Click Done.


4. Real-time Interpretation

Choose from the following modes: Standard, Premium Transcribe, Regular Transcribe, DeepL Transcribe, and Bilingual Transcribe. Customize in "Frequently Used Settings".

  • Do not adjust system volume during translation.
  • Set audio input to Microphone for on-site use.
  • Switching audio input/output will pause translation; re-enable it manually.


5. Zoom Meeting Setup

  • macOS 13.0 or later: Enable translation and allow permissions when prompted.
  • macOS below 13.0: In Zoom: Privacy > Audio > set Speaker to “Same as System”.
  • While in meeting: Audio > Speaker > “Same as System”.

    While in the meeting, navigate to the bottom toolbar, click on 'Audio', then under "Speaker", choose "Same as system"

1. Microsoft Teams

  • macOS 13.0 or later: Enable translation, grant permissions, and restart the app.
  • Below 13.0: Set speaker to System Default.

2. Tencent Meeting

  • macOS 13.0 or later: Enable translation, allow permissions, restart the app.
  • Below 13.0: Set speaker to System Default.

3. Full-Screen Mode Note

If Zoom or other apps are in full-screen mode, iTourTranslator may be hidden behind them. Please exit full-screen mode if needed.



6. Document Translation

Translate documents while preserving layout, formatting, and tables.

  • Only one file at a time. Images not supported.
  • PDFs support text selection.
  • To re-download: Go to History > Right-click file > "Show in Finder" > Delete > Re-download.


7. Text Polishing (ChatGPT)

Improve English fluency using AI:

  • Upload .txt files or paste text directly.
  • Max 5,000 characters. Cannot be empty.


8. Troubleshooting

If simultaneous interpretation fails to detect language, check the following

1. Language Input

System Sound (Speaker) – Default option. Recommended for online meetings, remote classes, and video calls.

2. MicroPhone

Use “System Sound (Speaker)” for meetings and calls.

3. Volume Output Settings

Go to System Settings > Sound > Output, find iTourOutput, and raise the volume to maximum.

4. Unsupported Apps

Some apps such as Bilibili, WeChat, and iQIYI are not compatible with iTourTranslator's recognition engine.

5. Can't Hear Others

If the translation appears correctly but you can't hear the other party, restart iTourTranslator and try again.
